Job description
Do you enjoy helping people? Do you enjoy working as part of a team? Due to growth, we have an immediate need to add a Customer Service Specialist/Router to our team. Tristar Transportation Co. has been around for over 28 years and is known for providing excellent customer services to our schools, vendors, drivers and parents. This position also has routing responsibilities including working across the routing team to coordinate, assign, and build routes. This job requires strong skills in phone etiquette, data entry, multi-tasking, customer service, problem solving, and organization.

This is a full-time early morning office support position that requires a 6am start time to cover customer service and driver phone calls as well as last minute sub driving route assignment if a driver calls off. Additionally, this is a position that requires the individual to act as a team player and assist wherever help is needed. This position also requires the individual to be certified driver through the Ohio Department of Education.

Education requirements
○ High school diploma
Experience requirements
○ HS Diploma plus 5+ Customer Service experience in a high-volume environment
○ Proficient in Google Suite/Microsoft Office, and other web-based applications
○ Extremely comfortable with problem solving and working as a team
○ Ability to multitask, problem solve, and make quick decisions
○ Strong, friendly customer service skills
○ Must be able to be pass all state requirements to be a certified driver
Responsibilities
● Customer Service Representative:
○ Handle inbound calls promptly and effectively from parents, drivers, school personnel
○ Communicate changes (delays, early releases, schedule changes, etc.) to parents, drivers, school personnel as needed
○ Respond appropriately to customer complaints and document accordingly
○ Perform daily data entry into routing software with updated student, driver, and school information as needed

● School Transportation Routing:
○ Work across routing team to help coordinate, assign, and build routes in routing software
○ Perform confirmation calls with student’s families and drivers to confirm route
○ Ability to take on sole responsibility of student routing, and ultimately responsible for specific districts if/as needs arise
○ Assist UZURV team for daily dispatch, issues, concerns, and customer service if dispatcher on duty is unavailable

● Office Support/Administrative:
○ Daily maintenance and backup of software records, daily filing of these records
○ Updating and printing driver’s schedules
○ Process Emergency Contact forms (tracking, importing)
○ Analyze route changes using various tools and experience and determine how to accommodate changes (as time permits)
○ Assist drivers and communicate daily routes to substitute drivers
○ Sub drive when necessary
○ Assist with other office duties and support

Skills
○ Trained customer service experience in a relatable industry
○ Strong verbal and written communication skills
○ Technically savvy; experience with a routing software a plus
○ Previous dispatching or routing experience desired
○ Willingness to help others and be a team player
○ Knowledge of Central Ohio and the city streets
Work hours
Monday-Friday starting at 6am
